What’s New in WhatsApp iOS Version 25.25.74?

The new feature allows users to schedule reminders for individual messages in chats or groups. You can choose from preset intervals (2 hours, 8 hours, 1 day) or set a custom date and time. Once activated, a small bell icon appears on the message bubble. When the reminder triggers, WhatsApp sends a notification with the full message, a media preview, and the chat context.

Importantly, all reminders are processed on-device, ensuring privacy and keeping your chat interface clutter-free. Once delivered, the reminder is automatically cleared.

Why This Matters for Kenyan Users

In Kenya, WhatsApp isn’t just a messaging app—it’s a business tool, social planner, and digital workspace. From coordinating boda rides to managing client feedback, WhatsApp is deeply embedded in daily life. But with the constant stream of messages, key details often get buried.

This feature solves that. Whether you’re tracking a supplier quote, a group contribution deadline, or a meeting follow-up, you can now set a reminder directly within WhatsApp—no third-party apps, no mental juggling.

Business Users: From Chaos to Clarity

For Kenyan SMEs, freelancers, and remote teams, this is a strategic win. It introduces a lightweight CRM-like layer to WhatsApp—flagging priority messages and ensuring timely action. Imagine receiving a payment confirmation or delivery instruction and scheduling a reminder to act on it later. That’s operational discipline, built into your daily workflow.

In a market where responsiveness builds trust, this feature helps businesses stay sharp, organized, and client-ready.

Social Users: Organize Life, Effortlessly

From birthday plans to chama contributions, social users can now turn WhatsApp into a smart assistant. The bell icon makes it easy to revisit important chats, while automatic clearing keeps your inbox clean. It’s thoughtful, intuitive, and designed for real life.

JuaTech Africa’s Take | Thought Leadership in Action

At JuaTech Africa, we decode tech shifts that matter. This isn’t just a feature—it’s a signal of where mobile-first productivity is headed. Meta’s move to unify Android and iOS experiences shows a commitment to consistency, privacy, and user empowerment. Meta AI on WhatsApp is also proving timely and valuable, as the AI battles take a higher gear.

We see this as part of a larger trend: tools that blend communication with execution. As East African users demand more from their digital platforms, features like this will define the next wave of smart, localized innovation.
